red eyes…and photoshop

Being very new to digital cams and pics…how do I change the color of red eyes to their natural color from Photoshop…

The product is Photoshop Limited Edition version 5.0 LE

I hope this works for you I find it the easiest method to remove redeye 1 open up channels plalette
2 select blue channel
3 use oval selection tool to select area of the first eye that is red 4 hold down shift key and select area of second eye that is red 5 copy to clipboard
6 switch to red channel
7 paste to red channel
done
go to rgb channel and it should look good
hope you can make out my quick explaination

AFAIK top left hand corner in PS7 – click n hold the square marquee tool, then select from the flyouts the oval marquee tool

A good way that works for me is to outline the red eyes with the lasso or oval marquee tools, then open the red channel in the channel mixer, reduce the red slider to 0%, increase the green & blue channels to 50%. Voila, red eyes gone.

An even easier way that "usually" works just fine in PS7 is to use the sponge tool in desaturate mode to turn red to gray, then burn the gray to black. I like both tools at about 50%. This preserves the catchlights as you tease the color away. The pupil is essentially black regardless of iris color (unless it’s red 🙂
