Hi,
I use photoshop album to catalog all my photos.
Can somebody tell me in which file all datails are stored so, when I have to format my c drive I just can copy it in the correct folter and save hours of work.
Can I configure the program so this data are stored on another drive then the c drive?
Thanks

I was SO disappointed with PS Album! As I am sure you are aware, once you move your pictures, they are "lost" on album and need to be "reconnected." PS Album organizes pictures by merely storing the location of each photo, it doesn’t actually store the photo itself. If I were you, I would burn a CD of each or you will end up with hours of work reconstructing it. BTW, I like Memories on TV much better.

Hi there,

I’ve got Photoshop Album 2, and you are looking for the whater.psa file. I have it saved in My Documents folder so I remmeber to back it up when formatting my hard drive, but yours could be saved in the Adobe folder of the Program Files. Just have a look on your hard drive for *.psa and you’ll find it.

Good luck!

It’s definitely missing some professional features, but I still think it’s great.

Photoshop Album 2 has a much better reconnect feature too, and I’m hoping that Photoshop Album 3 will have all the things that are missing from it now! 🙂 The way I figure it is this, if this product is aimed at the amateur market, then what do Adobe have which is aimed at the professional market for cataloguing photos? So either they bring something new out, or upgrade this.

Professionals use proper database based software like ThumbsPlus. etc..

I have PS album 2 and the programme created a folder called ‘Photos from Removable Media’ – in the ‘My Pictures’ folder – It then placed all the pictures I asked it to monitor in various sub groups in that folder. I think this only applies to pictures that are loaded onto your computer after you have installed Album?
I wonder if this is standard practise or something during setup that you have to request?
Try Edit > preferences > files > folders for saved files, to find the location of the above folder. (on the same page it tells you where the catalogue details are stored)
