Issues with Photoshop 6.01 and Cut an Paste from other application.

Hello everyone,

I am working on an issue that I can seem to figure out. I am using Windows 2000 and Photoshop 6.01. When I copy something from another application such as Freehand and then paste in to a new or current image in Photoshop, I get an error that there is not enough memory to perform the operation. This was working and then one day it stopped. All other aspects of photo shop will work fine.

I have gone over all the settings that I could think of and have no luck. Does any one have any Ideas as to how I can fix this problem?

Hey Chris,

There could be alot of reasons for this, some of which may be system related.

How complex is the object being exported onto the clipboard. Are there multiple layers? Colors? Nodes? If you have to many nodes, the clipboard may not be able to import depending on your RAM and processor speed. I am probably wrong about this but hey I tried.

The oject can be simple text or a picture. It does not matter. I can tell you that if you cut and paste the same object into another application such as word or paint it will do it fine.

I am at a loss my self so Hopefully some one can give me more Ideas.

I am no expert in solving PS errors but did you try a reinstall of PS. Before you try that, maybe try resetting your preferences (the remedy for many PS problems).

If none of these suggestions does the trick, it probably has nothing to do with PS.

Hopefully, a "more-in-tune" forum user will come along who has a better idea what the problem is.
