I am working with PSE and images that were scanned from film. It seems to me that working with levels to adjust color can at best be correct at three points on the 0 – 255 scale of light values. As an alternative way to balance color I have tried duplicating the image three times and eliminate two of the colors in each; ending up with the three colors each in its own image. What is the best method of combining and adjusting into a corrected single image?
