A while ago, when I used the pencil tool, the edges looked anti-aliased. Now when I use the pencil tool, the lines have jagged edges. What happened and how do I change it back?

Pencil is ALWAYS jaggedy. Always has been.

Want smooth? Use the Paintbrush.

Also, I see no difference between a soft round and a hard round pencils and lastly, the pencil shapes such as the scatter leaves and grass do not have the transparency that the stroke thumbnail shows.

I found the term. Hardness. I can’t adjust the hardness of the brushes and pencils. Can anyone tell me what’s wrong?

Ernie, to harden your brush, hold down Shift and press the Right Bracket key, to soften; Shift+Left Bracket, (if you press repeatedly, you can see it happen).
