hey guys,

i got some "light alloy wheels" photos this week… the picture format is jpg…. and they have a white background.
can anyone tell me an easy way to change the background-color?

* i tried the magic-rubber
* new layer with solid color and less opacity

but nothings seems to work. this pictures have plenty of details.

If the background is pure white and there’s no white in the image, then Select->Color Range or the Magic Wand may be able to grab the background, which can be changed with Edit->Fill. Image->Adjust->Selective Color may do it also.

If there is white in the image, or if the background is not pure white, or if there is not a sharp distinction between image and background, oyu’ll need to make a selection to isolate the image from its background. Since you say the image is of "wheels"–presumably, hard-edged curved objects–use the Pen tool to make your selection.
