When I was at PSW the first week of October, the D&D book was already printed (they
were selling it in the NAPP/Peachpit/New Riders booth) but in one of the sessions
that week, Bert Monroy told the 350 or so of us that there were enhancements to the brush engine that had been tested, but, for whatever reason, would not ship
with PSCS. I suspect that these brushes are part of what Bert was talking about.
Authors walk a tightrope— you want to be timely with the goods, but having tried to
write about other software while it is still in beta, you are chasing a moving target.
In one particularly memorable instance, I had 3/4 of a user guide written when
the developer decided that about half of the icons needed to be changed, and all
of the menus needed to be reorganized. Nearly every screen shot and every example
needed to be changed and edited. ugh.
As I’ve said before, I’ve not upgraded yet…After seeing it at PSW, I’m reading everything I can get my hands on looking for that killer new feature
or features that will make me feel like I need PSCS.

book.</snip>
Ok…so, I am now reading the book. Page 60.. "In Photoshop CS, Adobe
included some photographic
brushes that….fish…fruit….."
Well, I could not find those brush libraries anywhere….but, maybe, once
again, buying the Suite
versus the single copy upgrades was the error.
Or, my rant is really about publishers trying to be the first to the
bookstore and publishing
inaccurate information.
The QUICK TIPS on the outside margins of each page have not visual
associations.
So, here is my final review. C- Quickly read Scott’s magazines at the
bookstore but I would not
recommend this book.
