Hi,

I was interested to learn what the best way is for choosing various similiar color tints that operate in the same range?

I know Pantone sells a tint guide but I assume there must be a way to do this in PS.

You know the Color Picker has something like eight or nine different sets of Pantone charts, right? 🙂 Go to the color picker, click custom. Note that the appropriate values of Lab or CMYK are given for the chart of choice.
