I run PS7 on a P3 850Mhz and a AMD 2.5 Ghz. Slight performance difference. The real boost is each has a Gig of Ram. I found anything from 512 down dragged like a dog. Dave

Anybody else out there running Photoshop 7 on a Pentium 3 or less?
I would be interested in hearing how your performance is and your PC configuration. I am trying to decide whether a P3 could do the job for a couple of years still.

Right now, it is not good. I tried to muck around with a 300 dpi 10×10 image and got nothing but the dreaded hourglass. I do not want to see
that
hourglass. I want realtime editing.

thanks

so it is pretty safe to say. Go nuts on the ram. I think my mobo only goes up to 768 megs.

Any favourites for what type to use? Crucial, Kingston etc.

thanks

you didn’t specify your computer at all other than to say it is a P3 so it is hard to recommend but I use a P3 700 laptop with 416 meg which runs but doesn’t run very fast.
