It’s all on the Adobe main Web site.

Looks good, but we don’t seem to have got "filter layers".

Yeh they cut them out to spite the asshole who breached their NDA. Filter layers was very likley a MISINTERPRETATION of a feature that is included!

Or a feature they just couldn’t get into this version. The one problem with rumor reports is that they may indeed by reporting accurately about a feature in a given beta version, but that feature might not make it to the final product.

That’s why Adobe has such a strict policy about not talking about such things.

Looks like they are downgrading it.
Go live also same thing. They took out Dynamic Content.

That report made me laugh!

They quote what Dan Margulis said about V7… half upgrade, Marketing upgrade… have they yet tested the program?

We get several long awaited features (16bits with layers, 30K pixels limit blasted, text on a path, control freaks get their user definable shortcut keys, the Camera Raw, wich is an unique feature in a retouching program,) and some still manage to whine…

On the alleged filter layers, did you notice that there was never a screenshot of it? Don’t you think that they maybe just misunderstood the layer comp palette? Or the new filters palette???

16 bits yes, Text on a path OK,I have Illustrator. Camera Raw yes. but the other stuff like picture matching?
Where is the new extraction tool showcased by Adobe a year ago?

I read about luminosity based extraction on a report. I guess inside the extract plug-in?

Yeah, but all I win is the privelage of spending over $500.00 on software upgrades. I’m going to wait to see what Amazon has to offer. They generally have rebates on new software upgrades (I only paid $99.00 after rebate for Acrobat 6.0 professional).

tony – automatic deskew and crop dude! better get that bottle of tequilla and chris’ mailing address.

the only thing I’m really disapointed about is the lack of the filter adjustment layers. que sera sera. this looks like it’ll be a fine upgrade (for me).

Don’t count your features until they’re announced….

The extract command shown by Adobe at PhotoshopWorld is indeed present in CS. At least the version I saw when I was in L.A. I think the picture matching this is an awesome idea. As a Digital Photo Lab Manager, I can’t wait to test drive that feature.

I’m willing to bet, that Filter Layers will appear in the next version. I disagree with the fact that they removed it as a feature because of file size (if was originally present at all) considering the new .psb file format which can handle insanely large filesizes. I just think they felt they had made enough adj.s for this release (consider briefly also that Photoshop isn’t the only thing that was changed…)
