I am looking for a Photoshop extension/plugin/filter that would help to transform actual photos so that they look as if they were a part of a video game. In other words, I want to take a real photo and have it appear computer-generated. The best result would be to have my photos "squared off" slightly so the people in them look, for example, like the people in Madden football or another similar video game.

If anyone knows of such a tool, I’d be greatly appreciative. Please post replies to the group.

I am not an experienced Photoshopper, my latest version is 5.5 although I can use a later version at work. Further, if there is another tool not associated with Photoshop (i.e. a separate program, or addin to another photo editor), that would be fine too.

Thanks!

Maybe you can just lower the resolution of the picture.

I think you should increase 2 times the size of your pictures and use the "worst" f the 3
resampling ways (the best is "bicubic", the medium is "bilinear" the worst…uh… i don’t know the name in english 😉 )
it’s increasing the image size by adding a new pixel to an existing one (exactly the same in colour).

Some kind of histogram transformation should be good. In that process, you should decrease the color used.

But I am not sure about the result alough I think it may work. The real difference between Photo and graphics is that in graphics, everything has a perfect (simplified) math model. And the color is computed from a lighting model.
