When running an action under Batch processing, with the ‘save and close’ option checked, I am getting the jpeg quality options window for every image, so I have to manually click ‘OK’ to save the image. Why is this happening when I am saving in the same folder and how do I get the action to automatically select maximum jpeg quality?
Thanks.

Save and Close would work for files that do not have an options dialog, but it doesnt’ perform as you expect for those that do.

You are better off including a Save As in your action that saves the jpg with the options of your choice. That will also "hard code" the location in to the action so… in order to get around that, AND prevent the dialog from showing, toggle the dialog of the Save As portion of your action to OFF (the little square next to the action name).

Then in the Batch dialog, when you run your action, make sure to specify Folder as the destination, and CHECK the box that says Override Save As information.

When you run your action on the batch of images, they will edit, save, then close.

Thanks but I can’t get this to work. I am now getting a ‘Save as’ dialog box, with option to save as .psd selected as default. I definitely have the ‘override save as’ checked and the on/off box next to ‘save’ in the action palette checked.
Any ideas?

and the on/off box next to ‘save’ in the action palette checked.

It should be OFF – cleared.
