I am a mac user, OSX ver.10.2.8, and have Photoshop ver 7.0 installed. Whenever i use the any brush or tool for a couple minutes, my machine freezes and I need to reboot. Any idea why it crashes like this?

thanks, chuck

Try starting up PS with Cmd-Option-Shift held down and building a new Prefs file.

OTOH, I run CS on latest Panther, on dual 500, nary a problem and it runs very smoothly and much faster than I feared. You can always do a trial with CS’ link posted in thread just above.

If the machine is locking up like that, then the most likely cause is defective RAM.
