Hi,

I’ve looked at all the promo websites and I was wondering, perhaps an Adobe employee could help me:

Does CS do anything with a Jpeg’s EXIF thumbnail? does it display it? does it ignore it? does it allow the replacement of it?

Also, can EXIF data in a file be edited? Or just displayed?

I know these are all iffy things (since it seems like nothing out there other than the cameras themselves care about those thumbnails) but I was just wondering.

Thanks,

Hanford

It does use it as the first, fast, display of an image’s thumbnail. After that it refines the thumbnail for larger display using all the image data.

Data that is meant to be read-only – lens information and the like – is displayed. Data that can be edited, such as IPTC information and EXIF captions, can be edited.

I know these are all iffy things (since it seems like nothing out there other than the cameras themselves care about those thumbnails) but I was just wondering.
