Thanks, Broga, I have follwed the help instructions, selected the text, have chosen justify but nothing happens to re-align. Have also tried rasterising the text first – makes no difference

It seems to me that you must type the text into a text box or a shape before it will justify. As has already been said before, open the character palette and click on the Paragraph tab and choose which kind of justification you desire. Have you been dragging out a text box with the text tool and then typing your text?

All the text must be on the same layer and you must choose that layer in the layers palette.
Don’t rasterise the text – keep it as a text layer.
There should be a capital T on your layer in the layers palette if the text layer is still active.
If you merged two (or more) text layers then the text becomes rasterised and uneditable.
If you used the Type Mask tool then the text will be uneditable from the start – even if it is on it’s own layer

No, I didn’t use a text box – just a text layer and I have been trying to justify existing text on a layer – possibly if I make the justify selections then do the typing?

In PSCS, on my machine, the justification commands are not available on text that is not in a box or a shape.
