Hi, I’m a design fan and pretty handy with photoshop, but don’t know illustrator to save my life. I heard of programs that can "trace" pictures into vector, but don’t know which one I should persue. I need this ability to ultimately bring into PS. can anyone suggest anything?

All of my cartoons start out as hand drawn sketches and are turned into vector art using Adobe Streamline. Best vector results will come from high resolution scans into Photoshop and then Streamlined. Illustrator is only needed to tweak lines, knockout holes and add stylized text.

thank you sir,
I found and used Streamline 4, and found it more than suitable for my needs. Thank you for all your help. I really admired your work on your website as well.

It’s part of the Corel Draw Suite. Note that if the price of the latest version is too much, Trace from the previous version (which you can usually find as Corel likes to continue selling the previous version for a much lower price to get people interested in Draw) does the job just as well. 🙂
