Hello,
I have a very weird and annoying problem when using photoshop. When I open certain .Gif or .Jpeg files, photoshop displays them horribly. It looks as if their quality is lower in photoshop than their true quality. However, when I open the same files in Imageready, they look just fine. I could not find out what distincts those files from other files, but all I know it has nothing to do with me creating them (even some photos I have downloaded from the Internet are displayed badly).
I have reseted the settings, reinstalled the program – nothing helps! I am lost…
Please help
Thanks,
Eyal

Set your RGB working space to sRGB in your Colour Settings setup and images will look muchthe same in PS and IR

And make sure you calibrated your display using Adobe Gamma!

Thanks you two..
I managed to solve the problem with a solution similiar to that proposed by LenHewitt… Turns out I needed to have my color settings not at RGB but at the natural RGB of my monitor or something.
Thanks both 🙂
Problem solved..

Eyal – no, you didn’t solve the problem — you just hid the problem.

Go back and calibrate your display with Adobe Gamma!
