OK, I’m still a Photoshop 6 user, but I had the chance to play with a friends PhotoShop CS today. I only had a few minutes on it, but I noticed one ‘annoying’ thing.

On PS6 if I highlighted part of an image with the marquee tool, I could nudge the marquee u/d/l/r using the arrow keys. For some reason in PS CS hitting the arrow keys doesn’t budge it, and the only way I could see to move it was by left-clicking and dragging it with the mouse pointer. Doing it like that is vary inaccurate.

Has Adobe removed this ‘nudging’ option or have the keys changed?

Mike.

Neither. I’m willing to bet the control keys on your friends install didn’t work, either.

If you have the marquee tool selected, it moves the selection. If you have the move tool selected, it moves the content you have selected. Bob

Yes, I’m sure if he rings Adobe and explains the situation they’ll be glad to help after he gives them his name and address…

I presume you are suggesting the software I was using was pirated? I certainly couldn’t tell you that as it wasn’t my PC I was trying it on.

I can tell you that my PS6 is definitely is legit though

And boy we thought we heard it all LOL. I swear it was legit software, I swear. Well from frequenting photoshop forums I have see some weird issue going on with pirated versions of PS CS. Something about the shortcut keys not working. I don’t know I pay for my software and it only cost be 169.00 for the upgrade to CS 🙂

I would suggest you ask you friend too look in his make-believe manuel for that issue LOL.

Mark,

If your friend has a legit version he needs to update his keyboard drivers. Known issue with certain keyboards.

Cheers…

Thanks for your ‘understanding’, and perhaps upon getting an adult to read my post for you, you will see the part where I mentioned it was not my software I was using. Just to make things clear for you (perhaps English isn’t your first language?), I own a non-pirated version of PS6.

I try not to associate myself with pirated software, the same way that your brain doesn’t associate itself with simple comprehension.

I must congratulate you though. Your attitude has made me decide not to bother with this newsgroup again. Keep up the good work.

Mike.

Yep. Not suggesting you were using anything pirated. Just your friend. It’s a known error with one of the first cracks. 🙂

bob hits the nail on the head you have to have the move tool selected before it will nudge, my 7’s the same way.
