I’ve been trying to visit the Digimarc website for a couple of weeks now and all I get is a message saying"The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."
Anyone else having this problem or is it my ISP? I’ve tried hitting it from search engines, entering www.digimarc.com and even trying to connect from the suggested variations on the ISP’s error page. I’m not having any trouble with any other site I want to visit, so I don’t know what’s up.

Works fine for me. What message do you get when you ping it?

My firewall kills pings. Maybe I’ll try from the library or another computer.

I tried from another computer and got the same message. It looks like my ISP may be having DNS problems and I receive my DNS information from them. Do you have the IP address? Maybe if I try connecting that way I can hit it.

To check if it’s your ISP DNS service, replace the address of your DNS with:

207.69.188.185

That’s Mindspring’s DNS server. If it doesn’t work with that then the problem is at your end. If it does work with that then the problem is your DNS server.

Here’s the output from a ping on my system:

C:\Documents and Settings\mike>ping www.digimarc.com
Pinging digimarc.com [198.70.207.6] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping means nothing these days (many, many sites block pings) and you won’t be able to traceroute to it either (you’ll get as far as sprintlink’s gateway interface to digimarc), but it most certainly loads in a web browser from where I’m sitting.

If your dns isn’t resolving www.digimarc.com to IP 198.70.207.6, then there may be some issue with your provider’s dns server.
