What am I doing incorrectly? I have just changed my video card and all images with white backgrounds now are light pink.

I calibrated and still no improvement.

I guess the question would be: what exactly did you calibrate?

I’m assuming your problem is in Photoshop so I won’t bother with the Adobe gamma stuff. And since you did not change your monitor, the monitor profile is probably untouched.

So… have you looked into the video card driver’s dialog boxes to see how the color stuff is set up in there?

Could also be a defective monitor – if it’s not just Photoshop, that is. Sounds like the green-gun is shot, or it could be a pin
not making proper contact in the plug, or the wire itself is damaged. If it’s just Photoshop and not everything else that’s doing
it, ignore this.

Thanks.

In pshop no pink. In Word or on the web – pink so it has to be calibration. I did do the gamma set-up as I always have. Was not aware of the video card.

Example: http://gapdesign.net.au/sofa-factory

Video card just replaced so quite shocked to see images I create this way. All are JPGs.

Did you just use the driver that came with the card or did you go to the relevant web site and see what the latest version is and install it if it was later (which it probably will be)?

http://members.toast.net/cbminfo/all_sites/colorblind.html here’s a quick check to tell you if you need more calibration. If so it also has a link to the page that will tell you how to do that.

This is just some reference images from the color blind monitor web site. It says more than 80% of the monitors out there are color blind in one way or another. And those using them don’t have a clue.

FWIW: there’s many ways to adjust the colors. The one it doesn’t mention is to use the default gamma and make the other settings come to that. ie: 2.2 is windows default gamma. I can washout the monitor down to 1.8 and the reference images are great.
Trouble is everything else isn’t.

Once that’s done you’ll have to readjust many other color settings ie: any adobe gamma settings, desktop prefs, etc..
