I want to precisley define the dimensions of a layer.
At the moment, all I seem to be able to do is use Free Transform… which itself is good… but if I want to precisley define length, position etc, it can be very frustrating and impossbile.

I’m new to Photoshop… so am very lost at the moment!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A layer has always the same dimensions as the image itself. If you mind to describe what you want to achieve, somebody here will offer a solution or tell you that it is impossible. And there is a good chance that you get both types of answers at a time 😉

If you use the free transform tool, look at the options bar at the top and just type in the width and height dimensions you want. 10px for pixels, 10in for inches or percent, 10cm for centimeters, 10mm for millimeters. How much more precise do you need to be?
