When I save an image from CS to my hard drive, and then try to open it from there, it won’t open unless I select Adobe CS as the file source. It doesn’t matter where I save it on my hard drive, and I even set up a new folder, "Images 2" to save them, but that didn’ twork. I can also open then by clicking "Open Recent" in CS. This never happened in PS 7, and still doesn’t. Is there any way I can open CS images from my hard drive without going through this? (I have rebooted and ran SystemSuite and Dachshund Anti-Crash to no avail.)

If I understand your problem correctly, your pic files (jpg, gif, etc) are asigned to PSCS and when you doubbleclick them, your computer starts up PSCS. .

I don’t know if you have Windows or Mac, but in Windows you can rightclick on the file and choose the program you want to open it with. And when you click on "Choose program", you can mark "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
I always use Explorer to have a quick look at a picture.

I’m sure a Mac can do the same but I couldn’t tell you how.

hi
it sounds as if your saving to psd or the ps 8 equivelent ,use the drop down menu when you save the image and save it as bmp or jpeg that way it will open with any image viewer
