When I take my PS7 edited photos to be printed on a Fuji Frontier 370 they are much darker than they look at home. I have color profiled all my equipment at home so I don’t see that color managment on my end it the problem.

Any experience with this?

Thanks

Are you *Converting* to sRGB before sending files off to the Frontier (a sRGB only device)?

*Assigning* a profile does no good as the Frontier cannot read the profile.

This will happen if you edit them on a Macintosh.

Try converting to sRGB first, as Tom suggests, in any case. —

Hello All,
I get my photos printed on the Fuji Frontier System.
My printer informed me that all images need to be saved at least once as a ..bmp file – to stip all info and data writen to the file by the camera. Quote: "To avoid auto level machine correction and centre cropping, files must
have first been converted to, or processed in BMP prior to converting back to
TIFF or JPEG for printing".
They inform you of this in writing – because they charge you extra for colour (Australian way of spelling of color) correction. Not sure if this will help – but I think it may have some relevance to your problem
if the other repsonses aren’t helping.

Yup, I have the same problem and attribute it to the matte finish. Not sure I’d say it’s "much darker" but definitely darker. I simply make them a little lighter when i send them to Wal-Mart.

What color space are you using in the camera and in PS?

If you’ve used a good profiling system at home (hardware/software) combination and you are positive of your profile try another place for your images. Maybe find a place that has a Noritsu, (Costco).

If the problem still exists with different labs, then you have a problem with the profiling system you used on your computer.

I didn’t realize they were set to a 1.8 gamma. Interesting, and good to know. I’ve always just used their profile so that hasn’t come up as an issue for me.

Uhh, never mind that post. It’s too late and my wires are crossed.

Over 1500 Frontier profiles are provided at:
http://www.drycreekphoto.com/
After locating the processor you intend to use, run the profile on your prints and instruct Costco (or whoever) to keep hands off the adjustments!
