font size issue photoshop7 (urgent)

hi everyone, as the title says, I just had a problem with photoshop7.01 font size is completely out of control!

explanations:

I have to put 3pt to obtain a regular 12pt size ! how come. I haven’t touched anything in the preferences. :/ odd!

I have tried several fonts and same result, have tried to reboot my comp and no change.

any help would b gr8.

How does it look on the screen [viewing at 100%]?
Is it [approximately] correct?

Are you planning to print or is this for screen use? If it is for screen, then I would not use points as the size – I would use pixels.

first of all thx for replying collin. 🙂

and yes it’s for screen use, but I’ve also tried px, and same result. I have opened old psds and typo works just fine. so I guess it’s this file fault’s. so I’m just redoing it from scratch since I have no idea where it comes from.

k found a solution, just made the text layer out of the grouped layers and it works. dunno why atm, but in the grouped layers font size is weird.

The last solution posted is kind of unusual. (But if it worked, who cares, right?) What it looks like to me is that you have your dpi set to a different resolution than you normally work with.

In the document that you are having the font size difficulties, go to "Image->Image Size" and uncheck the "resample image" option. Then change your dpi to 72 dots per inch. I think that should do it for you. If it doesn’t, then try changing it up to a print resolution, like 2-300 dpi.
