Hello,

I am having a terrible problem trying to get an image to display with any type of decent quality. The image can be viewed at:

The type is Edwardian with a pillow emboss effect. I have the anti-aliasing set to smooth and saved it as a high quality JPEG. But the text still loks awful. I know I can try a different text, but would like a script of some type and have seen this done with reasonable quality on the web. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try with out applying smooth. If you did a save for web ? there is a blur option there under the quality menu.

Thanks for the help. I tried eliminating the smooth and it helped a little, but not a lot. I have the blur set to 0.

in Save for web set BLUR to 0. Put JPEG quality to 100.

Did you by chance flatten the image then resize it? The fine details of text don’t hold up to that very well. There is also quite a bit of JPEG artifacts visible (you’ll have to start over with an uncompressed copy of your logo). Don’t compress it so much, and don’t edit it then save it again; that recompresses it and loses more quality.

Text with very narrow strokes like the script font you chose don’t handle effects very well. They’re difficult enough to get to look good on the web even without effects. You may need to make the text bigger to give the strokes enough pixels to look good. You may even need to choose a different font.
