No jpg option in "Save As"

I recently bought a new computer with Windows XP Home Edition installed. My Photoshop 7 worked fine under Windows 98, but under XP, I no longer have jpg as an option in my File/Save As window. All of the other file types are still available, but jpg has just disappeared. Coincidentally, jpg has also disappeared from my Corel Photopaint Save As window! Again, this problem only exists on my XP machine. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you file is in "Lab Color" mode. Go to Image>Mode and check.

Remember, JPEG only support RGB, Gray and CMYK in 8 bits/channel.
