I would like to have an Action that opens the Save As dialogue box, changes the format to EPS and points to a particular folder. I want the Action to finish there, but cannot access the Stop Playing button on the Actions palette to allow this, having to close the Save As dialogue box before doing so.

Is there a way to do this? I would like to name the file before hitting the Save button. I see there is a Save As PhotoShop PDF in the Default Actions.atn set that does something similar. How did they get this to work?

Cheers,
Dennis

You’re stopping too soon. Record the action in it’s entirety. When you are finished, make sure to toggle the Dialog of the action to ON – the little square next to the action name. Then open an image and play the action.

Thanks YrbkMgr,

That keeps the dialogue on the screen for me, but it doesn’t go to the folder I had saved in the Action. I basically want the dialogue box to point to a particular folder when it opens, so that I don’t waste a heap of time manually navigating to the folder everytime I want to save something to it.

Any clues?

Cheers,
Dennis

Not on a file by file basis, no. The only way to point to a specific folder as far as I am aware, is in batching.
