Hi,

I am having problem with my USB Wacom Graphire Tablet, Some times the USB connection just drops and some time the Tablets lights on and when mouse is clicked, the light blinks, but the pointer does not move. Now i am getting this message from Windows XP saying that USB Device Not Recognised.

Funy things is that the tablet works fine on my older computer and Laptop both with XP, although some times, I get the same message, but after disconecting and reconnecting it works fine. I tried with and without Wacom Drivers, and uninstalling USB Drivers and reinstalling, still no joy.

Has anybody experienced it. Any solution. Is it the Tablet, motherboard or XP ? Please help.

First, a few questions: do any other USB devices behave erraticly? Do you have more than USB port? If so, have you tried them with the tablet? Just thinking here,

Intermittent problems suggest a connector problem so you might take a look at these. Also, I suggest testing the USB port voltages. I found my Gigabyte board doesn’t have sufficient voltages on the front USB headers while the rear headers have the correct voltages. This caused some devices to run part-time while others ran okay when using my front case USB ports. My solution was to use the rear USB ports with a hub.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest drivers from Wacom. http://www.wacom.com/productsupport/select.cfm
If that doesn’t help, e-mail Wacom support. It may be an issue they know about. I’ve always found their support to be excellent.

I have total four headers, they all work fine with different divices. I tried this tablet on all of them, same behaviour.

How about the drivers mentioned in an earlier reply? Also, check the cord for any signs of wear. My IntuosII’s cord is translucent, so it might be easy to see if something is broken there. A good wiggle on the cord, might yield a problem, too.
