I’m trying to replicate the font size that I saw on a logo on the web and even when I use the maximum size available under photoshop (72 pt), it’s still is to small.

I’ve uploaded the file to http://members.shaw.ca/annaps/size.gif

The font on the right is the size that I want, the smaller font on the left is what I came up with is using 72pt in photoshop. How do I get even larger font sizes?

thx

Anna

Type in the size you want or put the cursor in the font size field and use the  arrow key.

A line gauge might be a good investment if you run across this often. Keith

Just resize the font after you finish typing the complete words.

Thank you…that was easy, but I didn’t know you could do that.

Would you have a link to the line guage, I wouldn’t mind checking it out.

That’s really sad. I mean, on a scale of 1 – 10 with 1 being "I tried it and can’t figure it out" and 10 being "I’m so fucking stupid God would laugh at me" you’ve just scored a 9… Wait, even the help file says you can ENTER a font size, I’ve got to change that to a 9.5. Go back to using Paint, it’s more your speed.

In addition to the suggestions already made. With the Type layer the active current layer, select the Move tool, make sure that Show Bounding Box is checked, and you can stretch your text to any size or proportions you like, and also rotate the text. Press ENTER when you are satisfied.

If you hold down the SHIFT key while dragging, it constrains the text to its correct proportions. This is a quick way of finding the exact font you want (shown to 2 decimal points if you go back to the Text tool.
