To translate the topic: I just got the Adobe Classroom in a Book for Photoshop CS. I have not begun the actual instruction yet, but I always like to preview the material on the CD. Many of the projects look like Illustrator would have been the preferred program as they involve manipulating images that are not photographs. Why not use Illustrator?

Before I get a bunch of flames on this, I am not in any way belittling Photoshop. I think it is a good application, but I thought its focus would be in manipulating photographic images. I’ve never owned PhotoShop or Illustrator prior to purchasing the entire Creative Suite, but I imagined that Illustrator would be the preferred tool for non-photographic art. As far as pursuing photographic manipulation, I do intend to acquire Katrin Eismann’s book on photo restoration as I have a special interest in that area. I just feel I need to have some more background in Photoshop.

Thanks for listening.
