Delete my previous edit which said the problem is solved…it isn’t! I’ve just opened up another image and the liquify tool is not working again. It just produces squares on the image when I click on it with any of the tools. Paul

The liquify command is sensitive to DirectX issues. Start by cranking down the slider in your Video Display control panel Properties. On my system you click the Advanced button and then the Troubleshooting tab.

If that does the trick, make sure you have the latest video drivers and DirectX versions. There should be links to both of these at the web page for your video card.
