Using PS7 in windows, when I zoom in and out on a photograph image using the ctrl/+ or -, every other magnification looks jagged (ie-25% looks good, 33.3 looks jagged, 50% looks good, 66.7% jagged, etc). This is the most convenient way to zoom in and out, but I find this a problem. I have a trinatron monitor 21". Why is this? Can it be changed?

I don’t think it’s a problem of your monitor but a simulation that PhotoShop brings out in order to match the pixels of the monitor and the pixels of the image. At 25, 50, 100 the view is ok otherwise it’s a little bit jagged. This is what I know..

Viewing at 100% is the only true representation of the actual pixels, all other magnifications are a form of interpolation and thus inaccurate. Multiples of 25% are closer but sometimes off as well. It’s all in the "pixel math"
