1. What are the main difference between drawing in AI and in PS now that PS has vector tools?

2. What hapens when you select the option for updating text layers for vector-based output?

3. what file formats preserve vector shapes created in PS7? .psd any others?

I still like AI for drawing. The controls for creating paths just seem so much easier. I think PSD is the only format that perserves your vectors as such.

TIF can also preserve all image data.

Photoshop just has basic creation of Vector shapes. AI is dedicted to all things vector. So can manipulate edit vector shapes with more precision/advanced editing.

The only formats that are vector outside of Photoshop are eps and pdf. A psd file, once outside of photoshop’s grasp, is no longer vector.

The only layered format that retains vectors as well as layers is pdf.
