Hi. I have a sequence of TIFF images that I would like to turn into an animation. I have Photoshop and ImageReady, but I’m not a user. Can someone point me to a tutorial on creating an animation from a sequence of TIFF images that I can then display on a MS Windows machine?

I tried Photoshop’s online help, but it is big and I’m not sure what route to take. I can’t figure out if I should be using slices or layers. When I select all of the TIFF files to open it appears to me that a slice is created for each file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you can resize them to 800 x 600, use Tales Animator and use them as Backgrounds.

Tales Animator (free application http://dollysoft.com ) uses scripts for animating, such as:

Play NiceMusic.wav Volume .5 (Note 1)
Background Photo-1.jpg
Sleep 3
Next Scene
Background Photo-2.jpg
Sleep 3
Next Scene
Background Photo-3.jpg
Sleep 3
…..

Afterwards, you can Export it as an animated GIF file or use a CODEC to generate a Movie. You can even add sound (Note #1)

You can also use Zwei Stein http://www.thugsatbay.com/zweistein/ to create movies from still images. It is also a free application.

You might even wish to try this:

You could make an animated gif.

Put each tiff image in a different layer of an ImageReady file. Set the optimization to gif, use the animation panel to show each layer succesively. The documentation should show you how to do this. It is very simple and easy. The animated gif will work on every computer without extra software. The quality will depend on the content of the images.

It is even easier than that. Put the image files into a folder (with only those pictures). Use File – Import – Folder as frames.
