Hello,

Yes, you have noticed, I am a newbie.

I have taken photos of some cars, and although it was a cloudy day, there are shadows and highlights.

What is the practical way of removing shadows/highlights ?

Thanks in advance,

dev.

If you mean you want to make the shadows lighter and the highlights darker without losing details, use Image>Adjust>Shadows & Highlights in Photoshop CS.

Ctrl Alt ~ will select highlights too. A soft edged selection will give you some control of localised levels…

Suggestion:
Do a search on ‘Contrast Masking’ … you’ll probably find several tutorials and/or procedures to help your images.
