I was on my friends computer and I accidentally clicked on a link that I had never seen before nor knew what it was. Evidently the Full Retail version of Eye Candy 4000 is available for FREE at this location:

1. http://fosi.ural.net/ I think this is the main site..

My friend download it and installed as a security and evaluation test only. No viruses or trojans as reported by Norton Antivirus 2004 Professional Edition.

It IS the real thing..I couldn’t believe that full retail applications are able to be downloaded like this. Once I verified it was true my friend immediately uninstalled this Eye Candy 4000 and permanently deleted the downloaded installation file. Man was I ever shocked..I told my friend to report this site to the authorities and he promised he would. There are over 30 other full retail programs like this on that same site. Please..somebody do something about this!!!

Here are a few other links to the same kind of stuff! I am flabbergasted!!

Can anyone verify this for my friend?

Pirated software usually includes the reg code or it can be found easily.

I was once given a CD with several programs including serial numbers.

However, some else tried to install this also, not too long ago and said that no registration code came with the download and she couldn’t get past it. So, this download, even though it’s free, didn’t come with the code and the install couldn’t be completed.

El Wrongo Amigo…

I asked my friend to check on this and so he redownloaded Eye Candy 4000 from:

1. http://fosi.ural.net/

And unzipped it. In there he says he found three files

C:\unzipped\fo-ec4\file_id.diz
C:\unzipped\fo-ec4\fo-ec4.exe
C:\unzipped\fo-ec4\fosi.nfo

And "Lo and Behold" (Tis the season you know!) inside the fosi.nfo file (use text editor of choice) was this little bit of info
————–
Registration info: when asked, use this serial number
BFNMMHPENCCI
————–

This the same reg info he said he used for our security and evaluation tests yesterday.
So I guess YOU ARE SO WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!! He says to tell you that YOU SUCK !!

Why are Y O U posting this TOTALLY WRONG information?
Are you an imbecile or just stupid?

BTW my friend checked the other download sites listed as: http://sling.to/fosi
http://linkworld.to/fosi
http://kickme.to/FOSI

– and the same thing there- fully working copies of Eye Candy 4000 w/ working registration code

Yes pirated software is illegal so some say depending where you live eh???
Well, C, the last time I checked it was illegal in Mississippi (though maybe it’s one of those "states rights" things— like enforcing Civil Liberties laws, the separation of church and State, and the prevention of incestuous marriage— that are much less aggressively pursued in some southern
States)

I realize the issue is gray in some foreign countries….tell you what, if you promise to never come back, I’ll start a drive to raise the funds for a 1 way ticket for you to one of them….I hear Iraq is nice this time of year, and Haiti has nice beaches.

But I am soooo glad you made us aware of this so we can report the lousy little pirate to the legal depts of the software companies from whom he is stealing. Hmmmm…I wonder if he/she will thank you for dropping the dime on him/her????

But IIRC, a fair number of those programs have appeared as freebies on computer magazine cover CD’s

Charlie, be careful now… you might also stumble across some porn on the net and then you’ll really lose sleep at nights.

Whatever you like, it’s on out there on the net. And so are many other things that you won’t like.

Get over this as soon as possible, because that’s life.

If you find something on the net that annoys you in any way, hit the back button on your browser at once – or cancel your internet subscription to avoid any future anguish.

That still doesn’t make OK though, I might be wrong but I see a difference between a guy "sharing" software with a good friend and a guy offering it to the whole world.
Fosi has been around for a long time and it is a known fact that his apps are clean and working, even if stolen.
Why the guy can do that and how I have no idea.

Actually it will work.

Fosi has been around for several years. I once downloaded Paint Shop Pro 6 or 7 from fosi’s site and it worked. Didn’t even have to enter a serial.

This person hacks a program and fixes it so you either don’t need a serial or one is supplied in a text file..

Fosi is a female from Germany who has her warez on a Russian site(s).

The Russians don’t care what you have as long as you pay for the web space..

FOSI sites have always been webmastered by a Russian girl. And yes I have never heard of any malicious code in any of her apps. Anyway these guys that clamor about viruses and stuff must not have ever heard of scanning a download before installing.
Then again if they run PSP 8 that may explain a lot about their mentality.

Attempts to "police the internet" have and always will fail until 100% of all ISP’s all over the planet earth get together and weed out the chaff. But who decides what is wheat and what is chaff? The USA decides for everyone? FOSI decides for everyone?
Osama Bin Laden decides for everyone? Fred Sanford decides for everyone?

It ain’t never gonna happen….

Charlie,
I’ve been following the thread, kind of get the gist of things but what I don’t get is what motivates you (or Fosi for that matter). Where was your head at as you composed your post? For example, do you see yourself as a modern day Robin Hood or what? Just curious… Dr. J.

I was on my friends computer and I accidentally clicked on a link that I
had
never seen before nor knew what it was. Evidently the Full Retail version
of
Eye Candy 4000 is available for FREE at this location:

1. http://fosi.ural.net/ I think this is the main site..
My friend download it and installed as a security and evaluation test
only.

Man was I ever shocked..I told my friend
to
report this site to the authorities and he promised he would. There are
over
30 other full retail programs like this on that same site.
Please..somebody
do something about this!!!

Here are a few other links to the same kind of stuff! I am flabbergasted!!
http://sling.to/fosi
http://linkworld.to/fosi
http://kickme.to/FOSI

Can anyone verify this for my friend?

It is not the ISP’s responsibility to monitor everything their customers are doing (nor is it practical).

The only way to truly stop piracy is for people to realize they are hurting the development of future software and the people that write it. It must be a fundamental understanding that stealing is stealing – whether it’s a high-dollar software program or a pack of gum…

Why do you have to wait for someone else to tell you what’s right and what’s wrong? Realize right now that their is ‘no’ justification for downloading and/or using software you do not own.

You know I’ve been using hacked software for so long I cant eve remember when I started. Which also makes it that much harder t stop. It’s like breathing, its just something I do and I don’ consider stopping that anytime soon if I can do anything about it

If they can’t protect it right, they deserve to be robbed off it. All the sofware companies are still making a profit though. Just loo at microsoft, probably the most pirated software is Windows. And Bil Gates is the richest man on earth.

So quit jabbing about it :

Piracy goes beyond people losing money… (not to mention it’s illegal… hello…)

Perhaps someday you’ll see things from the otherside of the fence and realize how damaging this mindless theft can be.
