Printing more of a grey than black

Printing from PS I seem to get a dark grey rather than black on Canon s9000, could this be an issue of colour management?

Sam,
Is your black area actually RGB 0,0,0 black ? Could be the "black" of your image is somewhat off 0,0,0 and is being done by the colored inks, not the black ink. Then , I’d expect a "muddier" black , perhaps.
