I’m using a more advanced technique for making someone in a portrait appear younger. You duplicate the main layer and then in the new layer, you remove ALL the wrinkles using either the clone or healing tool, then you lower the opacity of that layer so that some of the wrinkles show through, but much less than the actual photo has. My question is, if I also want the picture sharpened, should I sharpen the original, the new layer that has its opacity lowered, or both?

Thanks,

Sharpen a flattened composite of the two layers, or with a layer-based sharpening approach.
