When you do a File > Open, the dialog box defaults to List view. Is there a way to get it to default to "Thumbnail" view?

Thanks,

If you have PS 7, you can use Browse instead of Open to get the thumbnails and then open from there.

When you do a File > Open

That’s a windows thing. Not photoshop. Search microsoft.com support. I’ve seen a tech doc on how to do it. It differs depending on your version of windows.
