I need to export type in a specific PMS color with emboss and drop shadow effects in black, so I get an EPS with only 2 color separations. I know channels are basically grayscale masks, but I can’t seem to merge or copy the other channels or layers to create that mask, and I know there’s a more simple solution. I’ve tried breaking up the CMYK channels, but end up with a white background, so reforming them manually doesn’t hold the highlights on the mask I’m trying to build. HELP!

Work the image up in Cyan and Black to start.

Then flatten and target the Cyan channel and cut.

Create a new spot channel in the appropriate PMS color from the channels flyout, and paste the Cyan that you just cut.

Save as DCS2, single file, color composite 72ppi.
