Hello,

I am trying to make a transparent gif in PS Elements.

I can use the magic wand to separate the image from the background. But I can’t seem to figure out how to make the background transparent.

I have tried starting from a jpg and from a gif but no luck. I checked previous posts and got some information but not enough to make it happen.

Can someone tell me the trick to doing this?

You’ve got layers in elements, right?

Get away from the background layer (switch it off). Before doing that cut & paste the content you don’t want transparent onto a new layer. You should now see a grey/white chessboard pattern which denotes transparency.
