Writing In Photoshop CS

HI, I own both photoshop 7.01 and cs. In 7 i can write letters and numbers no problem, however on Cs only numbers can be written…..anyone had this problem before???

This is not a common problem. Can you describe how you are "writing?"

Are you clicking the text tool, and then typing, or dragging a rectangle and then typing. What font is in use, what color, and what size? What image mode is the file in?

Sorry for all the questions, but I need more detail to try to come up with a solution.
