Is there a way to create an action such that i can transform the scale on a layer so that it is 5-10% larger?

am producing buttons with type that is of different lengths. i want to enlarge the type by 5-10% so that it bleeds off the edges.

any help would be great.

When you record your action, have your image rulers display Percent. Then when you transform, use % in the options bar at the top. That should keep everything in percents instead of absolutes.
