can’t edit file..

normally when I open a gif file I quickly convert to PSD file by double-clicking bg layer and then hitting ok so layer gets converted to a normal layer… but I find that here at work when I open a gif file PS doesn’t let me double-click on bg layer.. even though file is NOT read-only.. any hints? thank you..

You have to change mode from "indexed" to "RGB".

You have to change mode from "indexed" to "RGB".
