PS 8 has "lost" its JPG "Save As" option for a tiff image

PS 8 (Win XP Pro, Dell 8200) seems to have "lost" its ability to "save as" a tiff image as a jpg file. When I open a jpg image, I get many more "save as" options, including jpg. With a tiff file, my choices are tif, PSD and two or three others. I have reset my Preferences. Any help would be appreciated. Jim Robbins

Sounds like you have a 16bit/channel instead of an 8bit/channel image
