Why does PS7 saves TIFF images differently than PS6?

Even basic TIFF images that I save with Photoshop 7, using the same parameters that I have always used in previous versions of Photoshop (LZH compression, pc format), now cannot be read by the software I use to manage my images (JASC Media Center). The only thing that has changed is the PS software version.

Can anyone enlighten me as to if or what has changed in the TIFF file export filter, and why?

Thanks,
Doug

Have you updated to 7.0.1? PS 7.0 had Tiff issues.

That blows, Rob! 🙂

Doug, PS7 supports saving layered TIFFs…might that be the problem? It should be easy enough to test out opening a normal TIFF vs. a layered one.

TIFF readers shouldn’t even see the layer data.

No, most likely he’s using 7.0 and never got the update.

So if that is the case – get the .01 updater, then re-save your images with the updated Photoshop (7.0.1).
