Help with action and automate

I have a few thousand screenshots via Media Player, I want to create a action or something that will make this job a lot easier. On each image I need to cut the image out of the Media Player window save to a new file (jpg) and then save it to a folder, I want each of these images to have a name like image 1, image 2, image 3, etc.

I want to open the selected files and run this action and not have to worry about doing anything else. any suggestions?

Some step by step instructions would be appreciated very much
