I’m familiar with PS7 and just now trying to use Elements (on my sister-in-law’s computer while I’m on vacation to deal with my Nikon digital photos) I brought my Nikon View disc and instead of loading PS7 on her computer, I brought the Elements disc I received when I bought my camera. I’ve never used Elements before, but it seems much the same as PS. So, I am using Nikon View and Elements.
My problem is when I use Elements (has no version #) to open a jpg saved from my digital camera to crop or otherwise alter the pic, it opens as 72 dpi. I will be having them printed, (just 5 x 7 snaps) and want to have them open at 300 dpi without my having to change the resolution each time because it’s a nuisance and it seems to degrade the photos a lot. I can’t seem to find how in help or preferences. How can I change the default for opening files?
I don’t have my PS with me, but I am sure my photos always open at 300 dpi at home using PS.
Thanks
Diane
