This link goes to a web page with 2 images on it made in an identical fashion as far as I can remember in PS 6 and then PS 7 and a final plain text image. As you can see the more recent version is very "bitty" – e.g. the edges have loose pixels.

All I do is choose Times Roman and make a layer and set it’s Layer Style to "Bevel and Emboss" and click on "Drop Shadow". Is there a setting in the new PS that is limiting the quality of my image? It is not the way I’m saving because it looks just the same in PS. In fact even ordinary text without any emboss or shadow also looks awful, both in PS and when saved as a graphic, see the last image. I’m still as inexpert as I was the first time, no way did I know then how to make a smooth text graphic and I’ve forgotten now.
What has gone wrong???? I am on a much improved computer running NT. All my new graphics look like crap now! Is there a new hidden setting somewhere in PS that defaults to poor quality? Thanks for any help.
