Hi,
Does anyone know of or have of any examples of websites where vector animation, like SVG or SWF, has either increased the functionality or added to the aesthetics of the site? I am not interested in animated adds, I consider those worse than useless.

Thanks,
Ron

Hi,
I looked at a lot of these and the one Mike mentioned too – plus others I found myself. I found them interesting but not compelling. It seems to me that the disparity in access bandwidth for the general population, from cell phones and dial up modems to at best cable and digital modems, has allowed Microsoft, Adobe and the Open source communities to continue their petty battles of one-upmanship. In light of that I do not feel like this is a good time to take on an animation project. Before the post I had narrowed the field to a project in either vector animation or mesh. Mesh now seems much more compelling after looking into both.

Thanks,
Ron
